Hey M-L beautiful photo, is that with your macro lens? Looks almost wet, it appears to be a very healthy speciman. Reptiles are a close second to birds at my house. Thanks for sharing.
Yes Dale, I used my Macro lens. I was so hoping to get the blue tongue, but because they do poke it out so quickly, it's always blurry. One day I'll catch it.
Yesterday I bought a box of crickets. But his favourite food is snails. (So is mine , but I like them with garlic butter, hard to get in Australia , unless you buy them in a tin. I have heard there is a woman in the Yarra Valley who breeds them in her garden. Have to check that out But unless they feast on the right herbs , they won't taste right. A bit like goat's cheese and meat, if they don't grase on Thyme and other wild herbs, the meat will taste bland and boring.)
Sam and I are doing reptile rescue, we currently share (with a work colleague who also does RR) a Lowland Copperhead that I rescued, it has an injury. Ms dwatsonbb won't allow me to keep him(?) at home, so I have visitation rights with my "godsnake". His name is Beau.
Once it has healed and subsequently sloughed (shed it's skin) we will release it back into the wild. It is only a juvenile, about 750mm long. Will try and find a few photos to post (have heaps, but only a couple of good ones).
Wild reptiles around home - lots of skinks (Beau food) and blotched blue tongues, did see a White Lipped Whip Snake last week.

Sorry, got a bit carried away by the snails
What kind of reptiles have you got?
