These are wonderful, Shorty. :)
In fairness, Shorty - the eagle has been fishing almost its entire life.![laugh laugh](https://www.birdsinbackyards.net/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)
Hey Shorty, I bet you are a better photographer than the eagle. Love all of these, keep em coming please.

Sitting in the boat on the river near the entrance we got a nice surprise with 2 Emu's walking past us on the river bank![smiley smiley](https://www.birdsinbackyards.net/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)

Great photos Shorty. Enjoy your time at Mallacoota. A long time since I have been there; stayed at Gypsy Point once, up the river. No doubt you'll be taking shots around the inlet. Good luck.
That eagle shot is spectacular, Shorty! Greeat catch! :)

Thanks, Night Parrot. First time here for me. I got here late as the birds kept popping up in front of me on the way. I will be checking all the locations i can.

Arrive at Marlo to overcast drizzly conditions but went out any way, looks promising here, i hope for a nice day tomorrow.

Well Marlo is proving to be a good move for me![smiley smiley](https://www.birdsinbackyards.net/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
I got up at 5 and after a coffee i took the long trek out to the Snowy River mouth, about 5km through the sand to get there but i am glad i did.
Along the way i spotted a bird way out to sea and took a couple of snaps, i have had to crop the crap out of the pic and i can't believe that i can make out the bird from the distance that it was shot at and with salt mist through the air, but it looks like i can give the Australasian Gannet a tick.
But the day got better, when i got to the mouth i could not believe my luck, 2 Hooded Plover right in front of me![smiley smiley](https://www.birdsinbackyards.net/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
On the way back i got a very nice bonus with a Beach Stone Curlew![smiley smiley](https://www.birdsinbackyards.net/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)

Envy, Envy, Envy
Stone Curlew is awesome.
Love them all, you want Australasian Gannets, come to Tassie! We regularly drive through the when sea fishing. They rest in flocks on the surface, and take off as we approach. Usually going to fast for any decent photos though. Will have to get my mate to slow down a bit.

Just pull the fuel line, that will slow him down![laugh laugh](https://www.birdsinbackyards.net/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)
