Great photos Rick, I would go immature Pacific Gull, based on the dark tip on both upper and lower beak, yellow colouring to beak, and darker wing colouring, approaching adult. Again I am no expert, but that's my 2 cents worth, always happy to be corrected.
Love the eye colour on the cormorant, much under rated bird.

Wonderful photos. The two gulls one is quite impressive.
Love the cormorant pictures too.
Thanks Dale,windshear.
Dale, I thought the same but couldn't get a good match going by the P&N guide.
Then had a look at Kelp Gull and it looked almost exactly the same bird.
Hope some more people will comment or will put it in the ID section.
Cheers
Immature Pacific Gull which has much heavier bill than Kelp Gull.
Interesting shots Rick.
Great work as always.
Think your probably right Woko, see what you mean about the stouter bill.
Will stick it in ID for others to comment.
I agree with Woko with Immature Pacific Gull due to the thicker bill.
Beautiful photos, I especcially love the commorant. Never seen one of them.
Cheers
