I think this is a Brown Goshawk but feel free to correct me as Goshawks and the Collared Sparrowhawk always confuse me - not that it takes much to confuse me these days :)

I'm thinking its a collared sparrowhawk because of the tail feathers. The goshawk has a rounded tail and the sparrowhawk has a squarer tail.
Thanks Headsie - i'm always looking for quick ways to spot the difference - i didn't know that :)) i was looking more at the lack of a distinct collar and it seemed a bit big but it could be a young one
Yes, it looks like it has the long middle toes too
I got a pic of the Collared Sparrowhawk about 2 weeks ago. Definitely looks the same.
