I have had a newly-fledged magpie flapping around my house in the last few days. I suspect it only hopped out of the nest on friday or saturday, and he/she's been entertaining us all with its attempts at carolling and flying. (He's getting better at both I think)
I paid a visit to a local park, and saw some adorable Purple Swamphen chicks, and then found a nest with a few Welcome Swallows babies flying around, and hopping back in the nest when the parents came back with food. (sneaky)

The swamphen chicks are very tiny and sweet.
