Baillon's Crake

I am sure this is a Baillon's Crake but seeing it is a rare summer sighting for Canberra, would like comments to be sure. Taken today, massive crops so quality is poor.

Yep, it's a Baillon's Crake.

It is easily identified by the underside of the tail... The Australian (Spotted) Crake has a clean white bottom, while the Baillon's Crake has barred markings which is visible in the photos.

wow, I barely leave the place and you find a 'rare summer sighting'; you are very lucky that I have already ticked the Baillon's Crake
