Is this a Bassian Thrush or a Russet-Tailed Thrush ??

I saw this bird at Brisbane, QLD this afternoon. Is this a Bassian or Russet-Tailed Thrush ?

Hard to give an exact, but I would say Russet-Tailed. Doesn't seem to be an anchor mark on the feathers. Where abouts in Brisbane was this taken? Not sure that Brisbane has anywhere that has a high enough altitude for a Bassian, but you never know.

Hi Devster,

I zoom in picture and see bit of white colour on tail feather so you are right, it is likely to be a Russet-Tailed Thrush. Bird Field Guide says autumn movement to coastal lowlands in Northern NSW and South East QLD. We are on a hill top West of Brisbane.

You did well getting it out in the open like that.
