Still raining in W.A, between showers went into my backyard and managed a few shots.
1 was the Laughing dove perched on my grapevine, used the Minolta Beercan lens 70/210
2 Was the Silver eyes on my next door olive tree which extends into my backyard also used the beercan lens..

HI Raoul
Two more top shots I really like the dove.
Thanks guys..
Hi Raoul, haven't a clue as to what a beer can lens is - Swan, Fosters, Vic Bitter or Cascade?
Whichever, it's a nice sharp lens and these are beautiful shots.
I've been totally full on with my visiting daughter and 6 yrs old g'son this week - I've had no time for birding, just happy snaps I'm afraid until late next week when hopefully I'll get my life back! LOL

Thanks Tark! Here's a pic of the beercan lens,so named because its the same size as a beercan.
WOW! ... that's a lot of lens there Raoul. Thanks for the enlightenment. I take it that your Minolta is a 35mm Film Camera then, is that right?

Raoul - This is the first little Silvereye that I have seen in my garden. He was darting around in the rose bushes so quickly I couldn't believe I "clicked" at the right time! Different in colouring than your little guy.
Hi Lyn, its the same bird only your camera settings and lens are different then mine, surprising what different lens will do to a pic, nice shot a agree with you they are hard to find standing still for a few seconds. You did well.
Beautiful shots Raoul!! Love the dove with the soft background colouring.
That is a good lens by the looks of things

Hi Raoul, that lens line up of yours should handle pretty well any photographic situation. Sorry for the tardy reply, have my daughter, g'son visiting, the young'un keeps tugging at grandpa's sleeve, bless 'im!

No worries Tark, i didn't take it as a tardy reply.Looks like you have your hands full at the present time.
Well I did have Raoul until 2:00pm this arvo when they flew home to Vic. That's what's nice about being a grand dad - here today, gone tomorrow so to speak! :o)
