Bird bath

We recently added a bird bath to our garden and we are astounded at how many birds take advantage of it.

Good shots and nice range already Jeanne. Try resizing to 500 across on the last one.

Cheers, Owen.

Great shots Jeanne..... I was wondering what you were talking about till I saw Owen's comment :). that is a great shot with the two Drongos..... I love them. It is strange how some of them hang around down this way and the rest go up north isn't it?

I wondered about that too Birdie. When I came up to Brisbane one winter I took a shot and was sure it was a Drongo but I thought they all left for winter until I looked at the Atlas of Australian Birds and saw that a good number do overwinter.

Cheers, Owen.

Yes some of them never leave Owen. The ones I saw down at Point Cartwright a while ago may have left now i think. I went looking for them this week and couldn't see them...their juvenile was quite big so maybe they just wait till the young can make the flight back to New Guinea or wherever . I haven't seen any around here at home lately.

Great collection of birds in your birdbath. I like to watch the noisy miners bath in ours but there is a pool on the other side of the fence and they like that too

We get a lot of Spangled Drongos here - when someone told me their name I could not believe that Drongo could be the name of a bird I thought they were joking ROFL!!

Just a few more photos - hope I have made them small enough!

SOrry Jeanne...that was the whole image though wasn't it? WHen I opened the image there was no cropping showing?
I can not understand how photobucket works as I can never see anyone's albums there when I try, unlike Flickr ! Are all your photos private? I could only find one album.

Now several hours later and the latest photos are all appearing in full, maybe I should have logged off then back on this morning for the change in size to take effect. I have been out all day and hubby has been at home he said there were six birds at the bird bath all trying to take a bath!! as I said before we are astounded at how popular it is.

Thanks for the above comments.
