I took it near my house on Table Cape NW Tasmania - I spotted the - I am sure it is a brown goshawk and not a collared - just behind some pine trees in a paddock. He stayed still for a while as he was reluctant to give up his meal.

Great shots of a gorgeous bird, Ian. It looks like a young(ish) Sparrowhawk to me. The brow doesn't look as prominent as I've seen on Goshawks. Cheers.

No, I didn't see him take the possum, it was well chewed over when I came across them. I think it is a goshawk but stand to be corrected, I find some of the raptors hard to identify, still very much an amateur in the field.

I've had another look at the field guides and you're correct, Ian. I agree that it is a Goshawk. What a great birding moment it must have been. Thanks for sharing.
