Hi all took my camera for a walk yesterday morning to my usual spot at terrigal on the Central Coast and caught up with these guys

Lovely shots - congratulations - I know how hard it is to get photos of them
Hi George the first is uncropped with settings of f8 1/100sec 500mm FL taken from about 3m
The second is cropped a little on the top & right side with settings of f8 1/160sec 420mm FL from about 4m
I was using a monopod for both shots
Birdgirl I use continuous shutter mode which is 3fps with mine in the hope of getting a frame with it sitting still:)

oh im so jealous - i can never get a decent shot because they are SO fast.... just as i point the camera at them.... i'm sure you know what happens next !
