Pic's at work.

Got lucky today with a fairly aproachable Nankeen Kestrel.
Then on the side of the road i got a Buff banded rail and some more Red rumped parrots which seem to be every where at the moment. Got out of the truck for the kestrel but took the other pic's from my cab.

Love the kestrels in particular, but I do prefer birds of prey over other birds at most times. :-)

Loving your new lens results Reckless..... great shots.....shame about the cropping on the BBR as it is a nice shot. Where do you work to be able to do that?

The Kestrel is lovely and is my favourite there .

Thanks all, the Kestrel would be my fav also. I have a soft spot for BOP.
Birdie, I'm a concreter and work any where on the southeast side of Melbourne. Some days i can get lucky.

What fantastic photos!!I love the Kestrel, but the colours of the Parrot are stunning! Some weeks ago, on the road between Emerald and Upper Beaconsfield, past the Elefant Rock, someone got out of a truck to take photos of birds.(that's where I saw 2 Sea Eagles before) Was that you???

That wasn't me Araminta but that is what i do if i see something i like. I was talking to a guy the other week and he has seen immature sea eagles at Lysterfield a few times. Not every year but now and then.
Those BB rails are very shy, i know where you are coming from Owen1. I didnt have to leave my truck, so i had a slightly better chance. On foot they seem to be one step ahead of us all the time.
Thanks for all the nice comments.

Yes, the immature sea eagles are the same ones. The rock is on the other side of the reservoir. I saw them in a dead tree, where the elephant rock is. I saw one of them yesterday. Have a look, if you are driving through that area.

The grass parrot is so cute. It's rainbow coloured feathers make it stand out.. imagine seeing one flying over a rainbow :) Nankeen kestrel is so cute as well. it's a beautiful bird.. well done :)

Tassie

Very nice shots mate......what sort of truck do you drive???

Thanks all, they are very cute parrots. And in flight the red rump really stands out.
Tassie I don't drive a big truck like your one pictured. Just a small one for concreting. Dont even need a truck license but it wont fit in a normal car space which makes it always fun to get a spot up at the shops. Ford transit duel cab with a 2.7 meter alloy tray.
I just think truck sounds better.

Tassie

Good onya Reckless, the thing I started in was not much bigger, little did I know I would end up driving things that are over 55mtrs long. I think you are the smarter one of the two of us...."The bigger it is, the more drama's it is"
I certainly missed driving little trucks when I first started backing B-doubles into yards off Brisbane streets in peak hour..that nearly did my head on numerous occassions with cars racing around behind you.

cathshane

Aah Tassie sounds like fun, just like trying to back a quad dog up a ramp at a concrete plant with moron agi drivers driving behind you, gee i miss that!
