Sea Eagle?

Hi everyone ....yahooo ...loook what I saw when I had a camera with me. pity about the lamp post but beggars can't be choosers!! :) I was one happy snapper I can tell you

OOPS I just did a quick check and it isn't a sea eagle is it? Can anyone help me I'll wait a while to see who's around and then post in the ID threads.

yep birdie, eastern osprey :)....i recognize it bec of the lamp post hehehe, got a shot like that hehehe

Thanks AA. I was driving along the road that I always see them flying overhead on, and I saw him sitting on the lamp post near a bridge being built. I grabbed the camera and stared shooting, then, while I was looking at him hoping he would fly, I became aware of a large shadow that crossed overhead. Too late, I realised that this was the other half of the pair coming in for a landing!! I got so excited that I completely stuffed the camera up and blew the overhead shots and ended up with poor ones like this.

The amazing thing was that they were right next to an earthmover that was working on the new bridge and they didn't seem perturbed at all, just kept on fishing!! :)

thanks , I could get really interested in chasing raptors now, I love the eyes, Truth is I don't get time for much bird watching now.
