absolutely stunning Ed. That bee eater in the morning light is shot and composed so well!!

And how on earth do you get the kind of close up clarity such as you have with the black cockie?

Congratulations - they are superb

WOW ed you got some beauties there. We got those bee eaters here also but i can never get close for a decent shot, beautiful bird..

Outstanding photos - I agree with birdie about the composition of the rainbow bee-eater photo. The backlighting really shows the black-necked stork's wings to their best advantage. And my favourite - the red-tailed black cockatoo - beautifully sharp yet it looks so natural and unaware of the camera

Another outstanding set of photos, ed. That place is so good that I'll need to talk the family into holidaying there soon. The flycatcher doesn't look like a broady (although the angle does makes it difficult to i.d.). From directly underneath, though, it's much easier to confirm the i.d. Just remember to keep your mouth closed when looking up. ;-)

Thanks all, the RTBC will allow a close approach if you move slowly (I always talk to them as well....but that might be just me....!!). The bee-eater was from one of the hides on the towncommon.
George, It just so happens that I had my hat on, kept mouth closed and took this one, same bird.

A broady ?? maybe, never seen one so can't be sure but that bill sure looks broad.....

It does look pretty broad, doesn't it ? I've only seen one of these at Fogg Dam and yours looks much the same, so we'll call it a Broad-billed until someone says otherwise.
