Whistling kite and black-shouldered kite

This morning I went out to look for BOP and what a day I had. I was driving along a quiet road, scanning the power lines and after about 15 minutes without anyone behind me, I saw a black-shouldered kite - and someone was right behind me. I pulled over when I could and walked back, got 3 ordinary photos, and it flew off. I went on to the end of the road and turned around in a little park by the river and suddenly 2 whistling kites were flying above me. They were only about 12-15 m above me. By the time I got out of the car they were further away but I got one reasonable shot. I drove back the way I had come and saw the BSK again. I pulled over to try and take some flight shots and saw another. At first I thought it was a pair but it turned out to be a juvenile (shown in separate post). I took HEAPS of photos when I realised. I was happily driving home when I saw a pair of nankeen kestrels flying down to a swamp beside the road and being sent on their way by masked lapwings. It's the closest I've ever seen them, but I could not get any close photos before they were moved on.

Yes me too, it looks as if its talons are getting ready to grab something. I like the angles that show how broad the wings are too, and the beautifully fanned tail. Here is another whistling kite photo that was a bit dark, but I played with the exposure in picnik
