This guy flew a loop around us while we were having coffee on the back porch and then settled down to eating a few tadpoles from the dam.
This is only the second time that we have seen one on the property (last 2 years).

Morning edward, I have never seen a WN Heron near my place ,so thanks for sharing. What a beautiful dam!The photo of the bird in the dam is magical.The reflection in the water is a clear as the bird! And the blue sky on the surface is gorgeous. Looks like you are living in paradise!

Thanks for all your comments. We enjoyed seeing the heron - he stayed around for quite some time, fishing for frogs (lukily we have a healthy population of frogs).
