For anyone interested, here are 2 links from Birdlife Australia, which is the Working List of Australian Birds version 4. My understanding is that it is a work in progress, and may not be the final version? Hoping I am not breaching any copyright rules here!
The first link takes you to the Birdlife page, which contains the link, the 2nd link will enable you to download the file into Excel (at least that is what it did for me).
