On the 7.30 Report ABC nsw, last night, the most cruel and disgusting wanton killing of our native ducks ever seen, whole birds were buried in shallow pits and left to rot, and apparently it's all made possible and legal by our precious politicians. It was so upsetting that I could not watch it again, to think that as a nation we were over and done with animal cruelty, obviously not and our vain politicians don't give a damn. Absolutely horrible.
Justifiably so, this report has the Field & Game people very nervous. Outcries such as yours, doublebar, are needed to help ban this wanton slaughter. While the Field & Game people have created & protected some wetlands their efforts are, sadly, cancelled out by the shooting of wildlife, even more so by the relentless destruction of wetlands by human activities. It is surely time for the Fielders & Gamers to swap their guns for binoculars & cameras while continuing with their worthy efforts to restore & protect wetlands.
I can't even comprehend why such barbaric behaviour is allowed in this day and age. I don't understand how society can get so up in arms about Santa saying Ho Ho Ho, traffic lights that don't have female walk figures or not having Easter Bonnets because it may offend non religeous people, yet the slaughter of defensless, native Australian wildlife seems to be ok. It just does not make sense.
What interesting priorities we have, Devster.
