Lovely to see shuch great photos of this species. Eastern Bristlebirds are a bit like ghosts: often talked about but rarely seen.

Thanks Rick and Woko, i went to this location as they get reported here on a regular basis, but i was surprised how approachable this particular bird was.

Awesome sighting and photos, I have seen them there too but never got a very good view because they always disappear into the bushes quickly. What time of the day did you go there? Did you hear any Ground Parrots?

Thanks, Tim. I took these shots at about 1:30 on the Sunday on my way down to Kiama. I went back up there early on Monday and this same bird was in the same spot but i had no light yet so just walked past it and it ignored me. It was about 100m from the carpark on the Western end of the trail.

Unfortunately i did not hear or see Ground Parrot but i had a fleeting glimpse of a Beautiful Firetail on the first day and just got a long distant shot of one the second day.

I also got one Male Southern Emu-wren on the second day so was pretty happy.

I saw lots of Beautiful Firetails there and also very good views of a Pilotbird. Cool that you saw a Southern Emu-Wren, I just saw my first ones 2 weeks ago. Now I feel like going there again.
