Two emus wandered into my bush camp yesterday morning at Lake Gilles Conservation Park as I was having a quick breakfast.
They were quite inquisitive, maybe youngish birds, though still quite timid. They then wandered down to the edge of the salt lake but with the heavy fog around couldn't really get close or clear shots. There was quite a bit of rain the day before so that may be why they look a bit ragged.
Lucky you getting to see some wild Emus.
Nice pictures...I like the third one the best!

Unusual shots Rick. The third shot is just screaming out for someone to insert a comment bubble (or whatever it's called) next to the bird on the left.

Interesting encounter and nice photos Rick- i really like your B&W shot of the emus at the salt lake.
Nice ones, Rick.
I have been seeing them over the weekend but no where near enough to get a pic. I found some tracks of an adult and young over my tyre tracks today but could not locate them.
Agree with WD, the b&w pic has a good feel to it.

Such lovely photos! I really like the one of the two at the salt lake, a very beautiful arty shot, would go in a frame nicely :)
Thanks for sharing!
Haha, I didn't even realise my mistake. Corrected now.
No harm done, Timothy. Clearly no one else saw it.
Some did :-)
Nice Rick. Yeah I'm a fan of the lake one as well.
Aw, now you made me go back through the email alerts and read it!! :P
