Eastern Yellow Robin at Shoreham Beach Caravan Park

I hope I have identified this little bird correctly. I snapped these pictures during a stay at a caravan park in Shoreham last Easter. The day I took this picture I also took pictures of koalas! I had not seen koalas in the wild before and saw two in one day!

Hey Carla, yes you are right, I saw this on your blog pages too. they are lovely aren't they? They have a pretty sound too and are fairly obliging when in the bush to get shots of.

Just wondered, are you from Australia? Just because of the koalas that is all.

Thank you for your comments, cathshane and birdie.

Birdie, I've just received temporary resident status here in Australia. I'm American and have lived most of my life in West Tennessee. I'm REALLY enjoying the different scenery and wildlife. Glad I found this forum. I won't post all of them, but I have taken many bird pictures!

That explains the music genre then?

Last year I took my daughter to a Celtic music festival up here on the Sunshine coast and she did a celtic harp workshop. It was on again last weekend but we had to miss it because of our trip, it was awesome though, up in the hinterland at Maleny. the guy who ran it was from Melbourne.

Cheers

Birdie, are you asking about the music from my blog? Yes, that sound is a Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina mountain dulcimer mix, mixed with my Australian partner's folk, blues & bluegrass sounds. I've got a playlist of our music on another forum, if you're interested. Here's the link to my page on the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer forum: http://mountaindulcimer.ning.com/profile/CarlaMaxwell93 The music player is in the left margin half-way down the page.

I do love the lovely little birds, like the Eastern Yellow Robin, but I don't have much luck with photographing them. I don't think my eyes are trained to see them, yet. I've been watching the beautiful bigger birds that I have found here in Australia. I snapped the picture of the little bird above in an instant during a conversation with a fellow camper.

I have had a yellow robin near my dam, I hear it every morning, a lovely sound. Got a good look at it today for the first time.
