Whistling kite fledgling

Afternoon, I think the bird in the pics below is a whistling kite fledgling. Can anyone confirm this? It was on our driveway when we drove up but it wouldn't move until it was finished what looked like part of a dead snake. Sorry for the blurry photos, particularly the one in flight, but it gives an idea of its tail and wings. It was about a foot long on the ground.

It is the Australian endemic Lophoicitnia isura, Square-tailed Kite. :)
