Hello; I think it is the juvenile koel. Can someone positively identify it? Do have the channel-billed cuckoos around, and would like to be sure it's not one of those. Can you send me a link perhaps to a good photo of a juvenile channel-billed cuckoo (providing this isn't one :)).

Thats a Koel - could be a juvenile or it could be a female. Someone else may be able to clarify for you.

This one is a channel billed cuckoo but not a very good picture - sorry, it's a bit out of focus but you should be able to see enough.

thank you for your returns Maeve and Holly. Yes it does appear then to be the koel; it is a juvenile and it appeared that it had been reared by the Little Wattle Bird.
