The last few nights we have had a bird in our garden (in Blacktown, Sydney) that has a loud whistling song. I recorded the song but not sure how to upload. Any ideas?

No ideas how to post, sorry! Not sure if Flickr etc have movie options..??
If the whistling / song is mostly just after dark and before dawn, I'd suggest Blackbirds if you have them.
They're songbirds, and over the past month have started their singing. Whistling / trilling type song... Just a thought...
Scott.
If it goes all night it may be a willy wagtail. Ray
Maybe, I'm not sure. I listened to a wag-tail call. It did sound similar but didn't have the buzz bit at the end. It also was fairly high in a tree. Aren't wag-tails closer to the ground?
The Pied Butcher Birds have been calling through the night here ...is it a flutey type sound?? They get a bit worked up in Spring :')

G'day Auvigirl, I'm not saying it is a wagtail, but the monotonous night call this bird uses is not the same as its daytime song and they can be at any height. You don't normally see them at the top of huge gum trees but they commonly perch on high power wires etc.
