It's that time of the year. Two in two days. Red-bellied Black

These are a hazard of our hobby. A Red-Bellied black snake and a two metre python of some sort. Two days out and about, two snakes. The Red-bellied was at Eagleby wetlands while the python was in trees at Skinners Park on the Logan River - possibly looking for bird eggs. Just a reminder to everyone to take a little more care with the warmer weather.

Red-bellied Black Snake at our place yesterday. A beautiful creature. Tread carefully, folks.

All I can say is cool. I've had very few encounters with snakes, the last one being last season when I almost stepped on one sunning in the doorway as I was coming out from a bird hide at Jerrabomberra Wetlands- it promptly slid away under the hide and no photos :( although I guess that is better than having stepped on it

Awesome

While a definately hazard of our hobby , i would also call it an added nature bonus :)

Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well

Couldn't agree more laza. I could put up a pile of non-birdlife I have taken this year, in particular some spectacular lizards. Cheers Murray.

Murray, there is other sections of this site where you can put up photos of non birds. Would love to see your other pics.
