Jabiru

These were taken on a day out with some fellow BIBY members and the first time I have been given an opportunity to photograph them. I have observed them on and off for over 15yrs so it has been a long time coming.

These are great, Shane, well worth the slog through the long grass.

my pic of the pair was taken at Coraki, NSW in 3/11 - not as good as your pics but shows the 2 eye colours

my pic of the 2 juveniles was taken at Lismore Lake, NSW in 1/12 - I think that yours is also a juvenile because of the coloured feathers on the back where the adult is white

There usually is a reward for patience, wish I learnt that lesson when I was younger.

Adrienne if she hangs around too long just go back and sit in your car for a few minutes and she generally will leave. If that doesn't work looks like you gotta leave because she drives you nuts. Hope you get some good ones of the WBSE, that would be nice.

Ahhh...you had to go there Shane..... I am still trying to foget the WBSE wink

I have seen a few here on the coast recently but like theh Brahminy, they can be unpredictable as to their times. I guess if you live near the river you would be able to work out the times they fish etc. Havent been out much lately anyway to see much..... must make the effort to get coastal again in the next few weeks sometime!
