Kites

I captured two different Kites up on the Murray recently...I'm not up with my raptors so can anyone identify them for me...? I think the one with the rounded tail is a Whistling Kite, is the other a Red Kite..?

Ron.

Thank you laza...took them from the top deck of the Proud Mary on a 5 night/day cruise...the birdlife along the Murray is great, lots of different species...

Very nice photos ... great work.  River cruise sounds like a great way to do some bird watching too .

Great shots Ron, so majestic in flight. Added bonus while on your river cruise.

Red Kites are not found in Australia, though the Black Kite is a closely related species.
