Although it is possible for a colour mutation, it is most definitely a Mallard hybrid. All Black Duck/Mallard hybrids, no matter the colouration, will inherit orange legs from the Mallard (dominant gene)... just for your own interest. So, you will know whether it's a hybrid or mutation if in these situations.
