For me this was an unusual sighting, I have never seen this bird before, I did not even know there was such a bird.
I did a bit of research on the internet to find out that this is an Emerald Dove.

Nice catch,although not rare you don't see them in the open very often they like thick scrub were there colours make then seem almost invisible,and very hard to photograph.

Thanks Sparrow, it was around the area for a few days.
Our next door neighbour called me over and told me she had seen an unusual bird and asked if I knew what it could be - after she described it I told her (with my newly found knowledge!) that it was an Emerald Dove.
