Yesterday afternoon I heard my first White-throated Gerygone for this season at Cranebrook. There were in fact, three birds. Also heard a Pallid Cuckoo for the first time this year. They were gone by December, well at least not vocal.

It's good to hear birds again,you haven't heard for some time. At my place breeding is in full swing. I can hear 2 Fan-tailed Cuckoos out the back. If you listen, birds are singing everywhere!! (sadly, this morning, I saw the neighbour's cat walk past our house, with a dead Honeyeater in his fangs. I bought two more traps. I caught this cat twice! The woman doesn't understand, or has enough money, to keep paying the $200 fine?)
