On my weekly walk down our valley yesterday I encountered a peregrine falcon & the first native butterfly I've seen this season, a white-banded grass dart. Having been given The Butterflies of Australia by Orr & Kitching I've become increasingly interested in butterflies & keep an eye open in winter for their lavae (which cuckoos have on their menu.) Besides, they share habitat with many of our native birds. Native grasses, particularly, are favoured habitat of many native butterflies.
Hi Woko, I saw a beautiful butterfly yesterday, lots of colours in the sunshine.I'm waiting for other favourite animals of mine to come out, like the snakes and the skinks.M-L
