For only the second time I saw a (female)white-eyed duck on our neighbour's dam a couple of days ago. During the drought this dam was empty most of the time with few water birds present. With plentiful rain this year I've seen the return of wood ducks (2 lots of breeding), Pacific black ducks, grey teal, Australasian grebes & a pair of white-faced herons. Black-fronted plovers have yet to return to the dam's edge & there's been no sign of chestnut teals, yellow-billed spoonbills or black-tailed native hens which I used to see occasionally before the drought.
