i found that i can see new birds in the study at home. i was trawling through some reed warbler photos and came across a little grassbird which was in the same patch of reeds as the warbler so i thought they were the same birds. but on closer inspection the grassbird was totally different.
we learn something new everyday!!!

Nice shot there Owen, I've been trying for a quite a while to get a snap of those reed warblers but they always elude me! Make sure you keep an eye out for snakes though if you're going to be near areas like that, a red belly freaked me out one time when I waiting for a reed warbler to pop out, causing me to miss the photo of the warbler AND the snake which I really wish I had taken afterwards. I'm guessing you're in highschool Owen?
yes amateur i am in year 10 this year. are you in highschool as well?
i got the photo of a reedwarbler as well as this grassbird in the exact same patch of reeds. i didn't see any snakes but i was looking out for them.
Cheers, Owen.
Aha yeah, same year :)
Year 10 - I first joined the forum when I was in year 10...
School Cert. (dunno if Melbourne has an equivalent)was a joke, a year and a bit and then it is serious business.
Man, yr10 and you guys are already pro wildlife photographers. You make us all look like n00bs.

Now we just need QLDbird to pop in and that is probably our youth group with the exception of raven12 who is running his own race there with the bird feeding ideas LOL
Seriously it is great to have you younger members on board.... very cool. You guys are in charge of the future when we are all pushing up daisies :')

LOL Birdie is so morbid :)
Computer Birding: wouldn't it be cool if you can zoom into the reeds into the background and find other birds too if the resolution of the image is great enough?
Nice job finding it (as well as taking the photo - reed birds are so camera shy) :)

LOL taz if only i could find more birds in the reeds. iLl just have to go out into the environment and look harder!
how are you finding year 10 amateur?
Cheers, Owen.
