I was doing my best yesterday afternoon to photograph Tree Martins as they entered it a nest hollow with twigs and then flew out again when a Scaly Breasted Lorikeet simply flew down ignoring the Martins as they buzzed past and took over the hollow. It stayed in the hollow about a minute or so then climbed out and flew away. By then it was close to sunset so the wife and I went home to return today. The lorikeet was again at the hollow and climbed in and out so we assume it had just decided to evict the Tree Martins. Just wondered how many people have seen this kind of thing before?
