Interesting sight yesterday, noticed a Tern hovering in feeding pattern over the flats adjacent to the Coorong. Took some time to work out the bird was picking spiders from the samphire like shrubs.
Was a long way away so photos not too good but you can clearly see a spider in the birds beak.
Have only ever seen them feeding above water.
That is very interesting Rick. I wonder if this is a known thing or are you the first to discover it.
