What kind of black bird is this?

Can anyone identify this black bird? This doesn't look like the normal black bird we usually see in this part of South Texas because of it's red eyes. It's feeding here with the doves.

My guess would be Bronzed Cowbird, but I'm not real familiar with American birds?

If the pic is from South Texas, USA rather than South Texas, Queensland I suggest you use whatbird.com http://www.whatbird.com/forum/index.php?/forum/10-help-me-identify-a-bird/

Peter, is this website for birders from around the Australia area? I've noticed many posters are not from the U.S. I love this site, though.

It is primarily about birds from Australia, but we would like you to still enjoy this site, alot of the priniples af birding apply wherever you are from. We would also like to see and hear about birds from differnet places, so keep sharing if you like.

I also would like to ask two questions. Are there some bird species we have in common?  And do you have problems with introduced birds ?

My comment was not intended to discourage you from visiting BIB but to give you direction to a similar North American site that I know are excellent at bird ID.

You should keep visiting here as our birds are generally better than the N American wink

Thank you everyone for your replies, I'm the one who started this post. Here are some tanagers we got pics of yesterday here in Corpus Christi, Texas. They are currently migrating at this time.
