White-Throated Needletail

Hi guys, I saw these birds flying up fairly high. At first glance I thought they were just martins or swallows, but then realised they were much bigger, were flying differently and held their wings differently. I took a few shots hoping to get at least an ID as the light was not on my side. My guess is White-Throated Needletail, can anyone confirm? Sorry about the poor images but they were heavily cropped. Thanks.

Yes Devster - WT Needletail as RIck says.

I has same experience and similar thought processes about a week ago when i saw my first ones. I had just got camera out and saw a few "swallows" overhead and only became slightly interested when i saw a few with a white rump. I Just got the camera on them to see if they were fairy martins. Thru the camera i could see amongst the welcome swallows the much bigger white rumped birds.I thought at time they might be some sort of wood swallow. When i got home i figured out the best match was WT needletail - and posted it on here for an "official" id.

It pays to have the camera handy and take some photos if you're unsure hey.
