White Winged Fairy Wren

I have been meaning to head to Burns Beach, WA for ages now - not only for landscapes but primarily to shoot the little White Winged Fairy Wrens.
I met up with an old work colleague and we drove up to hit the coast. This was the first time he had actually planned a shoot and the first time that he
would be shooting birds! I realises now, he needs a bigger lens! Don't we all! Hahaha

I managed to get really close to the bright blue male! smiley

Amazing bird. Looks like he had just climbed out of a bottle of blue ink :)  Nice photos. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, they are a real darker, cobolt blue compared to our normal Splendid Fairy Wrens - and it was great to get a couple of keepers for my first time shooting these guys! smiley

Thanks! They are gorgeous little birds! And seeing as they get hundreds of people walking by everyday not too difficult to get close to either - at least until you pull your camera out! laugh

Lol, yes weirdly that big shiny cyclops eye (lens) tends to ruin the moment with the tamer ones at times.  Brilliant colours and what a treat to get so close on your first visit too, gorgeous!
