Yellow-faced Honeyeaters

I took some photos of these while waiting for some Scarlet Honeyeaters to reveal themselves.

Great shots Shane. I find these hard to get a good photo of.

Cheers, Owen.

Very nice Shane, the yellow markings come out really well. I get these in my garden from time to time, they make me run for the camera.

Thanks for your comments. I was lucky while waiting in the shadows this charming little fella landed in a patch of light and posed for me.

Great to see these.  I'm not far into the posts yet, so did the scarlets come out to play?  Haven't seen any around here for year now.

The Scarlets did come out and so did the 4wd's just as a Scarlet landed on a rock in front of me to have a drink, that wasted 40 mins of my patience. Most of the time they were well hidden in the trees. This was one I took.

I'm glad you waited all that time. Great shot of a bird I haven't seen yet, thanks.

Thank you Shane.  I used to see them a lot, but not for the past couple of years.  They are so small, and so beautiful and it saddens me that they are gone from here.

M-L I hope you get to see these beautiful creatures, they are a national treasure. They also have a nice sweet song .

Karen I have seen them at Riverdale Park, but not frequently. So all is not lost.

Thanks Shane.  Good to know.  I think they must be seasonal as in the past they've come and gone, but always returned.  Not so now though.
