today we are expecting temperatures around 39*, so I moved the birdbath into the shade. This gorgeous Bronzewing had no problem spotting it. He enjoyed a cool drink, but didn't have a bath. (now that I think about it, I have not seen Bronzewings have a bath, have yoy?)
then I saw this Bluetongue, and a Tigersnake ( couldn't get a photo of the snake, had to call the dogs inside first)

the colours on the wings are spectacular,M-L
we get quite a few Bobtails in our backyard.but never any Bluetongues
Lovely bird and blue tongue. I have a resident blue tongue lizard that only has one eye. It is quite easy to startle him by approaching on his blind side :-/

Ha ha, they an be pretty frightening, especially when you're on your guard for snakes and you suddenly come across an innocent blue tongued lizard!
