Bowra Wildlife Sanctuary (2)

Our visit to Bowra was simply a huge tick for me. Black-fronted dotterel, Double-barred finch, Galahs, Grey-crowned babbler, Mulga parrot, Red-kneed dotterel, Red-capped Robin, Spotted Bowerbird, White plumed HE, White-faced Heron, White-browed treecreeper.

Thanks Elizabeth. Bowra is a very special place. Wish I had bought my new camera before I went there. All the reason to go back next year! Cheers, Muzz

Great photos Muzz. There is such a wide range of birds at Bowra its a birders paradise! I didnt get to see the Mulga Parrots or the White-Browed Treecreeper when I was there last year. Even the Major Mitchels were very shy. Only saw 2. But I heard that a lot of birds that were there last year weren't there this year.

Thanks Devo, I think it must be a pretty dynamic site with birds coming and going all the time and with the seasons. Every night dozens of MMs would descend on the lagoon while we were there. Only saw the Mulgas at the leaking water tank. The Babbler and the Red capped Robin were off the side of the road half way back to the entrance gate. I want to go back next year at a different time. Cheers Muzz

Another great set mate.

Those Galahs with the Kangaroo background and the White plumed HE having the drink would have to be my favourites

Thanks laza. Funny that you have picked the two shots that are not my normal close-up snaps of birds. I will have to get more arty I think. Cheers mate.
