Where is the location? Qld?

We have an active Pacific Baza nest near Glenbrook in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. Two young in the nest too. About two weeks from fledging.

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best

Tassie

Chilled red wine, Geelong Football Club.
Seeing your a one of my mates on here I feel obliged to help you a bit.
Step 1. Have your Red wine at room temp.
Step 2. When you have had a substantial amount of "Red" there is a good song you can sing and it starts with "Good old Collingwood forever .......
Lmao.

2 years on from the original post I am looking at this thread for the first time. I remember the first time I saw a Pacific Baza was whilst visiting Cairns on holiday.

However today, while gardening, with Noisy Myna alarm calls going all day, i notice all the comotion being caused by just the same lovely species, right above my head, one adult and two juveniles (who chirp constantly), in a eucalypt, just east of Glenbrook, in Lapstone.

I've been aware of this hawk for some time now (have been living here for 6 years) and originally thought this was a Collared Sparrowhawk. But for the first time today, in such close proximity, I saw a small crest on each bird, as they perched above my head.

I was surprised to find this species in the blue mountains, but all evidence suggests these birds are not just coastal.

Lovely day.
